NTM has delivered precision CNC machining in Newport, PA since 1972, same family, same address, same standard. What began as a one-man basement shop with three manual machines is now a 50,000 sq ft facility and one of the largest concentrations of machining talent in Perry County.
Ron Weller founded NTM in 1972. His son Eric joined full-time straight out of high school in 1989 and now serves as President. Eric’s son Kyle followed the same path, out of high school and onto the floor. Three generations, and the same standard at every stage.
That continuity isn’t just in the family name. Brian and Tom Bixler both joined NTM straight out of high school and each bring 40 years of hands-on experience. Travis Dillman came the same way and has spent 25 years mastering turning and Swiss screw machining. Frank Warne, Brian Maneval, and Nate Kerstetter each bring 30 or more years of milling experience. These are career machinists who know their machines and stand behind every part they produce.
NTM produces precision machined components across a full range of processes, from complex 5-axis CNC milling to Swiss screw machining to wire and sinker EDM. Our Newport, PA operation runs 25 mills with 3, 4, and 5-axis capability, 10 CNC lathes with twin spindle, Y-axis, and live tooling configurations, plus dedicated EDM, grinding, heat treat, and inspection departments.
There are no corporate layers at NTM. When you bring a problem here, you sit down directly with the people who will build your part. If you have a component that has never been made before, we start with a conversation, we build the drawing with you in SolidWorks, work through programming, and move into production when you’re ready. Because prototype to production runs on the same floor with the same team.
Our quality control runs on a defined inspection chart. Every order includes at least one fully inspected part; smaller runs receive full inspection across every piece, while larger orders follow a documented sampling schedule that scales with volume. Nothing ships without a record. NTM holds ISO 9001:2015 certification valid through 2029 and carries a Type 7 Federal Firearms License.
Over more than 50 years, NTM has produced components for the Patriot Missile system (1991), Radial Keratotomy surgical eye procedures that preceded LASIK (1985), gyro stabilization systems for the marine industry, and stage hardware for major live tours including Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift (2018). That range reflects what happens when a shop invests in people and equipment instead of chasing shortcuts. When you call NTM, you talk to a machinist. If you have a problem, we solve it at the machine. Your parts ship right.
The machinists behind our Newport, PA operation bring decades of hands-on experience, most of it earned right here at NTM. When you talk to NTM, this is who you’re talking to.
NTM is almost always looking for good, experienced help, mill, lathe, Swiss screw, and EDM operators who want to build a long career in a family shop. If that’s you, get in touch with Eric or Kyle directly.
No call centers, no corporate layers. Send us a drawing or just an idea, we’ll work it out at the machine.
